Project Partners
The SuperGreen consortium provides
an excellent mix of partners, representing all actors relevant for
supporting the further development of the Green Corridors:
·
Transport operators covering all surface modes
·
Terminal operators incl. ports
·
Infrastructure operators, i.e. authorities etc. responsible for
developing and maintaining the infrastructure
·
Cargo owners (shippers)
·
Industry/Consultants
·
Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs)
·
Environmental Organisations
·
Research & Development
Collectively, these partners provide the analytical power that is
necessary to study an inter-disciplinary range of problems and suggest
solutions as a support on Green Corridors to the EU’s Freight
Transport Logistics Action Plan. They boast an impressive track record
of:
·
Planning, development and operation of transport infrastructure.
·
Transport and logistics operations.
·
Research and consultancy services in the areas of intermodal transport
and logistics.
The mix of partners covers all modes of intermodal freight transport
and logistics (excluding air), and is thus very competent to handle the
various aspects of the Green Corridors issues. Geography-wise, the
consortium spans Europe East-to-West (from Turkey to Portugal) as well
as North-to-South (from Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden and Finland) to
Greece and Cyprus). Both EU and non-EU partners are included, among the
latter organisations from Ukraine and Turkey. As such we feel the
consortium has an excellent geographical spread to handle the Green
Corridors throughout Europe, with extension and links outside Europe.

The purpose of SuperGreen is to promote the development of European freight logistics in an environmentally friendly manner. Environmental facors play an increasing role in all transport modes, and holistic approaches are needed to identify 'win-win' solutions. SuperGreen will evaluate a series of 'green corridors' covering some representative regios and main transport routes throughout Europe.
SuperGreen is a Coordinated Action supported by the European Commission (DG-TREN) in the context of the 7th Framework Programme.
